The fictional experimental film „Vampyroteuthis“ refers to the publication „Vampyroteuthis Infernalis „by Vilém Flusser and deals with its fabulous attempt to degrade anthropocentrism in favor of an objective study of the human society.

Based on Flusser’s hypothesis, a deep-sea squid (Vampyroteuthis infernalis) is the exact antipodal, biological counterpart to human beings. Would we succeed to isolate the factor „man“ from our social disciplines (such as culture, politics and morality), we would uncover an objective perspective on the human beings. It is an attempt to describe the human being from the perspective of a squid; The video deals with this issue by using metaphoric images. Two figures move in their respective habitats, the water forms a boundary between them; They approach, they move away from each other. Surreal, animated sculptures and shapes compress the cultural environment of each figure.
