Medulla
audiovisual installation

The audiovisual installation deals with our contemporary consumer society. Maximization and mechanization are paradigms of our social life.

Status symbols and consumptiondefine our position in the system. A constant overstimulation surrounds us in everyday life. We want to buy and experience the best and not waste time. The installation plays on audio-visual level with the principle of sensory overload. Fast images, hard cuts and booming sounds flood the recipient. A huge projection, two simultaneously screens, as well as four speakers overwhelm the senses of the viewer. This mood is interrupted repeatedly by apparent silence. By showing a quiet, almost meditative footage of nature, coupled with auditory whisper, the recipient experiences a redemption of social pressure.
